The Macaronesia Museums Network, which will take place from the 23rd to the 25th of October, aims to build on the practical results of the meetings held in Fuerteventura, Canary Islands (2024), where it was decided to establish a Collaborative Platform for Macaronesia Museums. This proposal, a common topic of discussion in the museum world, aims to share best practices and strengthen the technical and scientific capabilities of institutions with museum functions. This collaboration will allow experts to share knowledge about the management of their collections, promoting greater cohesion in the work carried out in each territory.

In this seventh edition of the Meetings, taking place in the city of Ponta Delgada, São Miguel, Azores, in addition to collaborative networking, professionals in the field of heritage, and museology in particular, are invited to discuss a range of topics of interest.

Among the topics covered are: museum collections, a crucial issue; gender museology and the contribution of island museums; museums, insularity, and the challenges of the digital age; citizen participation; and the sustainable development of museums, among others.
