The Horta City Council is organizing the Carnival Parade on February 12, under the theme “HORTAWOOD – The World of Cinema.”

This traditional event features the participation of the island’s schools and Private Social Solidarity Institutions (IPSS), with the main goals of preserving and valuing Carnival traditions, while promoting community interaction, creativity, and local engagement.

The parade will start at 10:00 a.m. in Praça da República, proceed toward Largo Duque d’Ávila e Bolama—where a brief presentation of the costumes will take place—and conclude on Rua Cônsul Dabney.
