The 22nd of June is the birthday of Angelina Fanny Hesse - the woman who introduced the use of agar in microbiology, making the isolation of bacteria possible. This technique revolutionised microbiology, allowing microorganisms to be cultured more efficiently in laboratories around the world to this day.
From the 20th to the 26th of June, OMIC will be celebrating the anniversary of this important figure by making the temporary exhibition "Fanny Hesse e o uso de Agar" (Fanny Hesse and the use of Agar) available at the Centre from 10am to 5pm.
