OMIC, as a partner of Ciência Viva no Verão 2025, will be running the ‘Microbial Safari - Knowing in order to value!’ activity, which will take place in the Chã das Caldeiras fumarolic field, in the parish of Furnas, on the 30th of July, from 10:30am to 12:00pm.

This activity consists of a guided tour of this field, where microbial communities that are well adapted to this environment thrive. During the activity, participants will have the opportunity to observe in situ, on a macro and micro scale, using a pocket microscope, some of these microorganisms that form extensive biofilms, giving colour to the hot springs ecosystem.
