MUSEUTALKS — Memories of the São Pedro Swimming Pool
The Carlos Machado Museum presents a talk dedicated to the memory of the former São Pedro Swimming Pool, now known as Pesqueiro, a place that left a lasting mark on generations of residents and visitors.
Featuring Urbano Resendes and Ana Amado, who frequented the site over several decades, the session invites the public to share memories and reflect on the importance of this space in the social, cultural, and emotional life of Ponta Delgada.
For many years, the São Pedro Swimming Pool was a gathering place for leisure, community life, and social interaction, playing a significant role in shaping the identity of the city and its communities.
The event is part of the MUSEUTALKS program and takes place within the framework of the exhibition “The Line and Time: Visual Geographies of a City”, currently on display at the Santa Bárbara Center.
✨ This initiative is also part of the program of Ponta Delgada — Portuguese Capital of Culture 2026.
