The Angra do Heroísmo Museum is continuing its cycle of baroque concerts, favouring the unique sound of the historic organ of the Church of Nossa Senhora da Guia, an instrument built in 1788 by António Xavier Machado e Cerveira, one of the leading figures of the Portuguese school of organ builders, and restored by master organ builder Dinarte Machado, in 2011.

The performance, as usual, will be by the Museum's resident organist, Gustaaf van Manen, who will present a programme of works by composers from the 16th to the 18th centuries.

With free admission, these concerts are part of the Museum's mission to value and preserve the region's musical heritage, offering the public authentic and historically informed sound experiences in a space of exceptional acoustic and symbolic value, such as the high choir of the Church of Nossa Senhora da Guia, attached to the São Francisco building.
